| Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress will vote for Pranab Mukherjee in the July 19 polls for President of India.
The decision was taken at a meeting in Kolkata today where Ms Banerjee met some MLAs and MPs of her party.
"We are the second-largest party in the UPA alliance. So we will vote for Pranab Mukherjee. We are not happy about this but we have no choice," she announced at a press conference.
Ms Banerjee fell out with the UPA last month after she rejected Pranab Mukherjee as the coalition's candidate for President. The Trinamool Congress was the only UPA member which had opposed Mr Mukherjee's candidacy. Mr Mukherjee on Sunday wrote to Ms Banerjee seeking her support.
