A reputed Construction Company in Dubai is looking for candidates for the following position immediately: Head of Estimation Dept. - Quantity Surveying - 1 No. This is a hands-on senior level position with cumulative experience of 15 years as Head of Estimation - Q.S. department on civil & infrastructure projects. Typically the HOD-Q.S. is involved in developing and producing bills of quantities for tender documents, tender analysis, interim payment valuations, assessment of variations and claims and producing final statement of accounts relative to BOQs. Reviewing, analysis and finalization of BOQs of both electrical and mechanical and civil disciplines and consolidating the same into one final tender document for tender bidding. The HOD - Q.S. produces BOQs/estimates as soon as the design is completed and submitted. Evaluations of BOQs as soon as tenders are being awarded and at the construction stage report the variations as soon as instructions are issued. The role of a HOD - Q.S. is to manage and control costs within construction projects with the appropriate use of management procedures and technical tools to achieve given goals and objectives. The HOD - Q.S. should be able to advise the top management on contract cost reviews for cost assessments and claims during the construction period. Hence it is extremely essential that the HOD - Q.S. has in-depth knowledge of and experience as civil & infrastructure Quantity Surveyor and be able to manage, control and monitor the complete department. SKILLS: - Candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Q.S. and it is an advantage to be a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from a well known Project Management Institute (PMI). - Minimum 15 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor. - Minimum 7 years of experience as an HOD. - Minimum 7 years of experience in the UAE.
