Sajith most likely to be reappointed Dy. Leader - Tissa Jan 31st 2013, 01:42 Hambantota District MP Sajith Premadasa was most likely to be reappointed as the Deputy Leader of the UNP, when the Working Committee meets on February 14, party General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told a local newspaper "This is most likely, as the practice would be, according to the Party Constitution, for Opposition and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to nominate the name of the Deputy Leader from the chair and for the Working Committee to accept or reject it," he said. He said that the division would be if a third of the Working Committee opposed Premadasa’s name, they would then have to propose the name of an alternate member who should be acceptable to the Leader and the Working Committee. If there was opposition to that as well, then the two names would be put to a vote on will decide the next Deputy Leader of the UNP, he remarked.
