The Fast Trending Footballers And Actresses/Models Relationships, True Love Or Money Love?

What is this strong attraction that female celebrities have towards footballers? There are many footballer and actress/singer/model hook-ups including Essien and Nadia, Muntari and Menaye, and several rumoured ones such as Eazzy and Dédé, Nadia Buari and Dédé Ayew, Ama K and Kwadwo Asamoah, and more recently Yvonne Okoro and Adebayor.

There are also plenty of imagined ones, e.g. Delay and her "relationship" with Hans Sarpei. This trend is also replicated in the UK, with Posh and Becks being the most obvious example.

The question is, what is the attraction with having a footballer as a hubby? Is it really about the money, after all successful businessmen, record label owners and movie directors can command roughly similar amounts.  And don't forget the fact that most footballers and sportsmen in general cannot handle money and go broke within a few years of retirement.

Is it because of their well-oiled physiques? Because the pot bellies will definitely come when they stop playing the game …

In the vast majority of these relationships, it is not their faces that is the attraction LOL… so I'm really at a loss to explain it.

In the UK, one reads stories every week about this footballer sleeping with x amount of glamour models (Essien, Muntari and Kevin Prince-Boateng are guilty), another sleeping with their teammates wife, another sleeping with their BROTHER'S wife…

So is it worth the possible heartache and humiliation for perhaps some extra $$ and prestige? Why do these women, and in fact most women throw themselves at footballers? The answer better be PURE LOVE or else….

LIFESTYLE: Do African’s Work Harder Than The Western World?

Posted: 18 Jul 2012 02:08 AM PDT

Growing up in the United States, I was taught that hard work pays off and that the U.S. is a place of opportunity.  I was also taught to outshine school mates with perfect grades and given advice on how to surpass my colleagues in the workforce.

I believed and knew for a fact that my parents were not discriminatory. As a matter of fact it would be senseless of them to practice discrimination as 'Black Africans'-Ghanaian's to be precise; residing in the U.S. However, my parents did inform their children that African's work harder than those in the Western world.

I did not understand this concept until I completed my education. I witnessed countless motivated African individuals who were determined to succeed by all costs. There were no complaints during study hours neither was there time to party all night.

We all remained studious while enrolled in 5 – 7 courses per semester. Though our course load was immense for the average student, it was also very important to me to establish an amicable friendship with my fellow African's as means of support to each other since we were the minority.

It was also important to establish a network for future venture purposes. No sooner did I realize my parents were right.

As an adult now, I have seen the difference in the workforce. African's always seem to go the extra mile to make hours at work, complete an assignment efficiently and timely, perform tasks that other's aren't willing to, and most of all take on demeaning dead end jobs just to establish themselves with the intent of self-betterment. (...)

READERS’ MAIL: Why Is Nadia Buari Wearing Bum Pads?

Posted: 17 Jul 2012 11:26 PM PDT

Hello Chris-Vincent of GhanaCelebrities.Com,

I  am sure I am not seeing things but since you guys at GhanaCelebrities.Com which is known for its notorious pieces have over looked at the recent photos of Ghanaian Actress Nadia Buari which seem clear  to me that she is wearing a bum pad, I have decided to send in this piece myself.

I have sent the most obvious photo for other readers to consider. I definitely know I am not blind.

Even as a woman, I am getting sick of the extent people are going to look glamorous. This is breeding a lot of low self esteem among us and it is increasingly catching up with the young innocent ones.

Every little girl is obsessed with celebrities, their bodies and outlook. However, majority of these celebrities are cunningly enhancing their bodies which these young ones do not know or see…

Must we go to these extents to look beautiful? Hell No!

Nadia Buari can be every monster, but one thing we all will agree on is that, she is beautiful.  So why the bum pads? Is she feeling insecure about herself? Or is she being threatened by the hips and bums of her colleagues like Joselyn Dumas and Juliet Ibrahim?

Anyway, I just hope it is not that I am seeing. It better not be bum pads! I have tried to convince myself several times that she is not wearing one but the more I look at the photos, the weaker my convincing becomes.

Photos below

FASHION: How To Get Colour Blocking Right….The Biggest Trend At The Moment!

Posted: 17 Jul 2012 01:19 PM PDT

Menaye Donkor Colour Blocking

I am sure you have heard and seen 'Colour Blocking' which is my favourite trend right now and I think it's here to stay. From neon pink to cobalt blue, this look is all about confidence.

The colour-blocking trend began about a year ago and the best way to pull it off is sticking to simple pieces and accessories. Don't go for prints or floral, the less pattern the better. You surely don't want to go out looking like a clown.

For the ones that are afraid of super bright colours, you can try colour toning. This is using shades within the same family. Try purple and blue or pale green and lemon.

This looks a bit more grown up.

If and when you decide to go for the bright colours, use metallic or black accessories to tone it down as this also allows the colour to pop out.

Remember this trend is not about having the same colour shoes and bag. Don't get me wrong, as I still do this. It's just that if you're going for the colour blocking look, this isn't right.

My favourite way to wear this look is with a single colourful item and accessories.

I love my colourful blazers, they will never go out of style and they can transform a normal outfit into something FAB.

Bangles and bags are also good investments. You can get these for affordable prices and u can mix and match them on various outfits.

Here are a few of our favourite celebs getting busy with the trend.  Feel free to send me a picture of how you rock this trend if you ever get the courage to try it…..

Open Letter To Dance Hall Artiste; Kaakie!

Posted: 17 Jul 2012 07:16 AM PDT

I have had the chance to comment on Kaakie whenever I'm reviewing a show I attended and she performed. By now, methinks most people know my stand on her. Home girl needs grooming.

In my review of the Stand UP GH concert featuring Bow Wow and Keri Hilson, I mentioned Kaakie's performance which looked just ordinary.

I wrote, "Next was Kaakie, who looked just ordinary. It's rare for a new artiste in Ghana to have three banging songs, something Kaakie has but didn't capitalise on. With three big tunes 'Ewo', 'Too Much', 'Toffee Pon Tongue', Kaakie could have done far better out there. She can do better than she did."

"I don't want to be slapped on the face with the 'hater' tag so I will leave Kaakie alone but I think she needs grooming to stay up there. Case close, I'm not saying more."

It appears that for all this while, I'm not the only person who feels Kaakie needs serious branding and grooming.

Read the article below captioned: Open Letter To Kaakie

Dear Kaakie,

First time I heard one of your tunes, I didn't know who the singer was. I just loved the music and enjoyed it as much since the Radio Presenter was happy enough to play it twice. He mentioned you had been a contestant in Stars of the Future and that you did not win, nor make it to the top five yet you have found your way into the limelight. I think that song was Too Much.

After sometime, you were already on the bill for musical concerts. You have indeed performed on a lot of platforms since I heard Too Much and the few other hit singles you have come out with so far. One thing I find disturbing, however, is the way the public has reacted to your looks for all this while. The outcry about your look and stage performances have been too much on the high side. I can honestly say I have not heard nor read a comfortable thing about your appearance, for whatever shows it has been.

I am no fashionista, and am probably the wrong person to try to give you a look but I am going to say it anyway. Your music is dancehall reggae, if I am correct. This kind of music requires a lot of energy to perform as the performer has to entice the crowd to move. The lyrics can be crafty, the beat can be punchy and they on their own are usually enough to make heads roll but when it has to be performed, people inevitably look up to the performer to entice them some more. You could have the best hits that people can enjoy in their homes and cars and offices and at social places but once you are there to perform, the expectations will be higher and all eyes will be glued to you.(...)
