Ncondezi Coal eyes 2017 start-up for Mozambique power project |
Aim-listed Ncondezi Coal on Thursday published the results of a definitive feasibility study (DFS) on a proposed 1 800 MW mine-mouth coal-fired power plant at the company's namesake project, in the Tete province of Mozambique. Ncondezi, which earlier confirmed the economic and technical viability of the project, said that it would develop the coal-fired plant in phases of 300 MW each, with targeted expansion to 1 800 MW by 2023, in conjunction with a still undecided-on strategic partner. JSE-listed building and civil products supplier and manufacturer, Dawn returned to profitability for the financial year ended June 30, reporting an R84.3-million profit compared with a R28.9-million loss in the previous year. Revenue was up 12% to R4.3-billion. Group operating margin increased from 2.7% to 3.9%, largely on the back of improvements in the infrastructure division. Airbus and the National Aerospace Centre (NAC) on Thursday said that a joint bursary programme has been extended to include 12 new students in 2012. Banking group Nedbank and the City of Johannesburg on Thursday entered into a R1-billion funding agreement, which would assist the city to roll out its 2040 development strategy.
