A lasting solution, not temporary ones, is needed to the serious consumer issue of escalating vegetable prices, said chairman of Daya Group, UNP national organizer and eastern provincial councillor Daya Gamage.
He has told Neth FM Radio the government’s Divi Neguma programme has also been a reason for the increasing vegetable prices.
The sale of vegetables at low prices by Lak Sathosa outlets will only be a temporary solution, and the failure to address tthe root causes will result in the increase of prices some time later, he added.
