A movement affiliated to Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), People's Wall of Comradeship (PWC),will hold a protest in Vavuniya to demand solutions for issues faced by the Tamil people in the Northern and Eastern Provinces.
The protest will be held opposite the Vavuniya bus stand with the participation of Tamil citizens in the North and East and members of civil society organizations.
Co-convener of People's Wall of Comradeship, Ramalingam Chandrasekhar said the protestors would call on the government to address several demands.
He has explained that the key demands would be for the authorities to hand back lands in the North and East to their real owners, establish a civil administration especially in the Northern Province and the immediate release of the Jaffna University students who have been detained.
