If you have a Mobitel account, for now, you can get the service free. Under this news service The Kandy News will send you short messages in English and in Sinhala (written in English script) that will tell you the latest news, events and other happenings in the Kandy city and in the surrounding areas. The web edition of The Kandy News has been converted to a daily web newspaper that will carry important news in greater detail and depth. The print edition of The Kandy News that currently is in its 18th year will continue to be made available in the usual manner.
